Attention all space enthusiasts, designers, and creative minds – the QUT Aerospace Society is thrilled to announce the launch of the 2023 T-Shirt Design Competition! This year, we’re looking for designs that capture the excitement and potential of space exploration to coincide with our CubeSat project – a small, cube-shaped satellite that will be a test bed for our payload experiment.
The CubeSat revolution has transformed the way we explore space, enabling new missions and opportunities that were once impossible. CubeSats are compact, versatile, and cost-effective, making them ideal for a range of space applications, from scientific research to commercial ventures.
So, for the 2023 QUT Aerospace Society T-Shirt Design Competition, we’re challenging designers to channel their creativity and imagination into space themed designs that capture the spirit of innovation, exploration, and progress in science and engineering.
All designs must be submitted through this page and will be displayed on our Padlet board. We encourage designers to share their designs on social media and encourage their friends and followers to vote for their designs. When submissions close, voting through a Google Form will commence for 1 week.
The winner of the competition will receive a $100 eGiftcard and the opportunity to work with the QUT Aerospace Society to create a line of merchandise featuring their winning design. The 2nd place design will receive a $50 eGiftcard and the 3rd place design will receive a $20 eGiftcard. This is a unique opportunity for designers to gain exposure and build their portfolio while supporting a worthy cause.

Terms and Conditions
- Eligibility: The competition is open to all members of the QUT Aerospace Society, who are currently enrolled students of Queensland University of Technology (QUT).
- Design Criteria: All designs submitted must be original and created by the entrant. The design must reflect the theme of the QUT Aerospace Society T-Shirt Design Competition and must not contain any offensive, defamatory or discriminatory content.
- Submission Guidelines: Each entrant may submit as many designs as they desire. The design must be submitted in digital format (PNG, or JPEG).
- Intellectual Property: By entering the competition, the entrant grants QUT Aerospace Society a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and modify the design for promotional and commercial purposes. The entrant warrants that the design is original, does not infringe any third-party rights and has not been previously published.
- Voting: All QUT Aerospace Society members will have the opportunity to vote on the submitted designs, for 1 week after the submissions close. The design with the highest number of votes will be declared the winner.
- Prizes: The winner of the competition will receive a $100 eGiftcard. The winning design will be used as the official t-shirt design for the QUT Aerospace Society in 2023. The 2nd place design will receive $50 eGiftcard and the 3rd place design will receive $20 eGiftcard.
- Publicity: By entering the competition, the entrant agrees to participate in any publicity or marketing activities associated with the competition. The QUT Aerospace Society may use the entrant’s name for promotional purposes.
- Copyright: The copyright in the winning design will remain with the entrant. However, by entering the competition, the entrant grants QUT Aerospace Society the right to use and reproduce the design for promotional and commercial purposes.
- Disqualification: QUT Aerospace Society reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not meet the eligibility criteria or does not comply with these terms and conditions.
- Modification: QUT Aerospace Society reserves the right to modify, suspend or cancel the competition at any time without prior notice.
- Acceptance: By entering the competition, the entrant accepts these terms and conditions in full.
